our mission is to be an oasis for everyday rituals - we take botanist’s distinct nature-imbued vibe, a mightily good cup of coffee, and welcoming service [but not ourselves] very seriously.

our space is shared with - and made beautiful by - FLORISTRY by Ithaca Flower Shop, who also hustle out of their primary location on main street, cortland, ny.
our story
owner Matti Sgrecci was a barista and baker prior to opening Botanist, and found common ground with Stacey Twigg - owner of FLORISTRY by IFS - over a deep appreciation for americanos and a love of plants in every corner, having first compared notes on personal aesthetics and coffee habits when Stacey designed florals for Matti’s wedding.
the opportunity sprang up to make our shared daydream [coffee + plants + flowers + a place to soak them in all at once] into an actual space, and, as it goes, the rest is history.
